Wednesday September 21st – Wednesday September 28th, Castello di Montoro, Terni

The timeless art residency experience is extended to painters and sculptors in the period betweenSeptember and October 2022 thanks to 12 scholarships provided by Fondazione Brivio Sforza.

The artist Nicola Vincenzo Piscopo, selected by Galleria Rubin, is hosted for a week at Castello di Montoro to produce sketches inspired by the places, spaces and territories that host him. The works will be completed later in atelier and will be displayed in a group exhibition in Milan in the courtyard of Palazzo Brivio Sforza, newly restored.

At the end of the residency, the artist offers two works, one to the owner as a thank you for their hospitality and the other to be auctioned off to create the scholarship fund for future residencies.

Born in Naples in 1990, Nicola Vincenzo Piscopo is a painter trained at the Academy of Fine Arts in Naples. In 2013 he was a guest of the University of Georgia for a solo exhibition in Tbilisi. In 2016 he co-founded the collective & nd project, taking care until 2018 of the curation of events that connected artists and cultural operators of Campania together with national artist run spaces. Since 2017 he has been a lecturer for the Italian Ministry of Education.

In 2020 he opened his studio at the Atelier Alifuoco in Naples. In 2021 he inaugurated the personal exhibition “Collirio” with Galleria Marrocco. In the same year, he took care of the curatorship of the Latin Quarter project, a “zero km condominium museum”, with the aim of creating a mapping of the artists who currently live and work in the Atelier Alifuoco’s neighborhood.
