Villa Totti draws its name from an influential family of Lucca that dates back to the medieval times. The Villa is located in Mutigliano, a hamlet of Lucca situated 5km from the city walls on the Street that leads to Camaiore, going through Montemagno.

The villa was built in the XVI century and the project has been attributed to Nicolao Civitali (Lucca, 1482-1560), son of the sculptor and architect Matteo Civitali. It is surrounded by a vast olive grove and it is set on the first hills one meets leaving Lucca, on the left of the Freddana river.
