The Leonis Trio was founded in 2024 at the Zürcher Hochschule der Künste (ZHdK). After only three months of activity, it joined the network Le Dimore del Quartetto and, in the 2024/2025 academic year, obtained the Stauffer Artist Diploma in chamber music in the class of the Quartetto di Cremona. In this context, the ensemble had the opportunity to benefit from the guidance of other important musical personalities, such as Marc Danel, Andrea Lucchesini, and Günter Pichler. Other significant figures during their training include the pianists Christoph Berner and Valeria Jegorova Robinson, as well as the duo Runge & Ammon.
In 2025, the Leonis Trio won second prize at the Kiwanis Musikpreis in Zurich and, in 2026, at the Giulio Rospigliosi International Competition. The ensemble’s concert activity mainly takes place in Italy, France, and Switzerland; notable appearances include Le Fil d’Ariane in Collonges-sous-Salève, Les aubes musicales in Geneva, the Richard Wagner Museum in Lucerne, the Revision Project in Basel and the Festival di Pasqua in Montepulciano.
Since September 2025, the Leonis Trio has been enrolled in the Master Specialized Performance in Chamber Music at the Hochschule der Künste Bern under the guidance of Prof. Patrick Jüdt, within the framework of which it is supported by the agency KULT Musikagentur.
