Bibbiano is located in the historic Chianti region in the municipality of Castellina, overlooking the Elsa Valley towards the castle of Monteriggioni. Cultivation of grapes in this area originated with the Etruscans, and continued well into the late-Roman era.
Inspired by this incomparable natural and human heritage, the family that has owned Bibbiano since 1865 continues to lovingly cultivate the vineyards and olive groves following a vibrant and modern family business tradition. Today’s owners, Tommaso and Federico Marrocchesi Marzi, are the fifth generation.
Surrounded by vast olive groves consisting of over three thousand trees, the Bibbiano vineyards cover an overall area of about 30 hectares, at an altitude of between 270 and 300 meters, distributed on the hillsides with enviable exposure and an excellent microclimate.



The vineyards of Tenuta di Bibbiano are made up of red Sangiovese Grosso and Sangiovese grapes, Canaiolo, Malvasia Nera, Ciliegiolo and Colorino vines, as well as Trebbiano, Grechetto and Malvasia del Chianti vines, on the two slopes that characterise Bibbiano and mark its different organoleptic characteristics.

Their aim is to produce high quality wines, by virtue of a firm choice to exalt the genius loci of Bibbiano, namely the soul of the distinctive geography and the human heritage of the place, generating balanced, elegant wines with distinctive, and sometimes even powerful, personalities with very clear textures.

Bibbiano – Chianti Classico
This wine is the expression of all the territorial characteristics of the business and is produced with grapes grown on both slopes of the property.

Vigna del Capannino – Chianti Classico Gran Selezione
Wine made only in the best years from Sangiovese Grosso grapes exclusive clone of the Vigna del Capannino located on the slope overlooking Monteriggioni. Chianti Classico Vigna del Capannino 2018 was awarded in 2021 with the recognition of 3 glasses of Gambero Rosso.

Vigne di Montornello – Chianti Classico Gran Selezione
Produced with Sangiovese grapes on the slope called Montornello, in cooler and rainy summers this wine dilutes its structure in favour of a wider complexity.

Bibbiano Riserva – Chianti Classico
The Reserve is produced with grapes grown on both slopes of the property and is a tribute to the tradition of our territory.

This option includes the presentation of the winery, the visit of the vineyards and wine tasting, transmitting you the emotion of discovering the evolution of Chianti Classico, from the Base to the Grand Selection. All enriched with an exceptional platter of Tuscan meats and cheeses.

Tasting and Lunch

It includes the presentation of the winery, the visit of the vineyards and the tasting of 2-3 wines, with a typical Tuscan lunch: Startet (Tuscan cold cuts); Main Course (Lasagna, Ribollita, Panzanella, Pici); Dessert (Cantucci and Vinsanto).

Sangiovese Tour
Price per person € 100,00

It includes the presentation of the winery and a tour of the vineyards where you will be surrounded by the beautiful landscape that surrounds the estate. The visit will be followed by the tasting of different vintages during which you will have the opportunity to taste the different nuances of the most important grape, acoompanied by a typical  Tuscan charcutery board and Vinsanto produced by them and Cantucci.


Tenuta di Bibbiano is owned by the Marrochesi Marzi brothers, Tommaso and Federico. It is one of the oldest estates in the Chianti Classico belonging to the same family.
Their philosophy is based on responsibility and consistency. Responsibility for what they do for the earth, for the area and for the unique wines; consistency in following one’s vocation, respecting the nature of the territory and family traditions.
