Rossall is a school steeped in history. It was founded in 1844 by Rev. St Vincent Beechey as a sister school to Marlborough, founded the previous year. Its establishment was ‘to provide, at a moderate cost, for the sons of Clergymen and others, a classical, mathematical and general education of the highest class.’
Set on an historic 160-acre campus on the picturesque Lancashire coastline, Rossall is today one of the country’s leading independent co-educational boarding and day schools. With nearly fifty different nationalities living and learning together at Rossall, they truly are a global village. The combination of UK day students and students from right across the world creates an exciting international dimension and an appreciation of diverse cultures, religions and politics.
They have excellent concert facilities and plenty of accommodation, and they are keen to become a leading venue for artistic events in this part of the North West. The spectacular location the school enjoys, with a private beach and extensive grounds, means that they are an ideal venue for any chamber group wishing to use their facilities.
