The Italian Institute of Culture (Istituto Italiano di Cultura) is an organism of the Italian Ministry for Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, with the aim of promoting the Italian language and culture.
The istitute organizes many initiatives on the cultural, artistic and scientific Italian life, in addition to  numerous classes of Italian language and culture.The Institute is set in a prestigious  hôtel particulier built at end ‘700s, in the heart of faubourg Saint-Germain, in Paris. Designed by the architect Legrand, it was the house of Monsieur de Talleyrand and  seat of the French Ministry for Foreign Affairs del Ministero from 1794 to 1821. Its awesome rooms have seen eminent people, such as Napoleone, Madame de Staël, Chateaubriand and the poet Arnault. Acquired by the Italian Government in 1909, the Hôtel de Galliffet hosted the Italian Ambassy first, the Consulate then, and finally, in 1962, the  Italian Institute for Culture.
