The Italian Institute of Culture in Belgrade represents the Italian Republic for cultural activities in Serbia. The Institute has the objective of promoting Italian cultural heritage in its various expressions through initiatives that can on the one hand present the multiple souls of Italy and on the other offer opportunities for the exchange and dialogue between the local culture and the Italian one with a mutual enhancement resulting from such interaction.
According to these objectives, the Institute takes care of the organization of cultural events, of cultural cooperation and scientific research, supporting the dissemination of Italian literary, cinematographic, and theatre works in Serbian language.
The Italian Institute in Belgrad, starting from July 1st 2006, is located in a new venue called Palazzo Italia, set on the central Kneza Milosa Street 56, where many diplomatic delegations are set, including the Italian Embassy. In addition to the main building, there is a smaller one on the backside which overlooks a large garden.
