PAULA, GUILLERMO AND JAUME

The Helix Trio was founded in Basel in 2022 by pianist Paula Belzunegui Moreno, violinist Jaume Angelès i Fité and cellist Guillermo Ortega Santos.
The three come from very different regions, with cultural and linguistic differences (Basque, Catalan, and Spanish) that give the group a unique blend.
Before playing together as a trio, they had already played together in various formations as a string quartet, trio and duo, which made it easy to start the lineup, given the shared way of understanding music and previous knowledge from rehearsal spaces.
As a motto, they try to put honesty and freshness in the service of music.
