The Erinys Quartet was formed by an international group of musicians in Finland. With roots in Estonia, Lithuania, Greece, and the United States, these four musicians have found common ground together in Helsinki.

During the 2022 season, in addition to their concert activities in Finland, Erinys Quartet participated in the inaugural Dover Quartet Workshop at the Curtis Institute of Music (Philadelphia, Pennsylvania) and Festival Groba in Ponteareas, Spain. The quartet was honored to perform Kaija Saariaho’s “Terra Memoria” in the composer’s 70th anniversary celebration concert in Helsinki.

Erinys Quartet has primarily studied with Marko Ylönen, receiving additional guidance from the Pacifica and Dover Quartets as well as Günter Pichler (Alban Berg Quartett) and Atte Kilpeläinen (Meta4). They have also worked with members of the Jerusalem, Vermeer, Castalian, Cremona, Chilingirian, and Arod Quartets.

Erinys made concert appearances in the Greek cities of Larisa and Meteora as part of the Meteora Music Days Festival, as well as in Italy, Spain, and the United States. They have also been featured as an Emerging Artist ensemble at Mimir Chamber Music Festival in Fort Worth, Texas (USA) for three seasons. In Autumn 2021, the quartet collaborated with composer and percussionist I-Han Fu premiering works for string quartet and tabla. The ensemble also participated in the 2021 Trondheim International Chamber Competition where they had the opportunity to play concerts around the greater Trondheim area.

Since 2021 Erinys has been supported by Le Dimore del Quartetto.
