The English version of our Social Report will soon be available for download.
This Social Report marks the completion of an intense and fruitful journey while opening the year in which we celebrate our tenth anniversary. It presents figures, projects, and impact, but above all, it tells the story of relationships. A network built over time, bringing together diverse expertise, complementary fields, institutions, partners, supporters, musicians, owners of historic houses, public and private organisations, and, above all, people. People who believed in an idea and actively contributed to transforming it into what we can now confidently define as a solid and internationally recognised Creative Cultural Enterprise.
Over the past ten years, we have worked to demonstrate that culture can be a tangible driver of sustainable development and that cultural heritage is not merely a legacy of the past, but a resource for the future. We have chosen to place social responsibility at the heart of our work, listening to vulnerable communities and bringing beauty and opportunities even to the most remote areas. We have invested in education, supported emerging talent, and fostered the skills needed to build a healthy future for our society while safeguarding the European values that inspire and guide us.
Today, more than ever, in an international context marked by conflicts, geopolitical tensions, and renewed displays of power among nations, we feel a responsibility to reaffirm the value and urgency of the European model: one founded on democracy, openness, human rights, cooperation, and dialogue. These are the very principles upon which Le Dimore del Quartetto has grown over the past decade. Our network promotes European values by encouraging encounters between young musicians from different countries and cultures. The participation in our projects of artists from nations currently affected by conflict demonstrates how artistic collaboration can transcend official diplomacy, becoming a tangible expression of hope and confidence in civil society.
Culture has the unique power to create spaces for listening, dialogue, and mutual understanding. Chamber music, in particular, embodies this ideal in an extraordinary way. Goethe described listening to Beethoven’s string quartets as “four rational people conversing with one another”—a metaphor that perfectly captures the essence of this musical language: a balanced dialogue between distinct voices, in which no instrument prevails and each contributes to shaping a shared discourse. It is an image that reminds us how music can represent, without the need for words, the model of coexistence and collaboration to which we aspire as a European community.
The world is changing rapidly, and with it the cultural, social, and educational needs of our communities. For this reason, we continue to question ourselves, to listen, to study, and to build new alliances. We are convinced that only through a cohesive and responsible network can we generate lasting and meaningful impact.
For us, this tenth anniversary is an opportunity not only to celebrate, but also to reflect and to look ahead with renewed determination. The initiatives we are preparing throughout this anniversary year are intended as opportunities to come together and continue shaping the future through collective intelligence and the energy of the passion that has always defined us.
I warmly invite you to join us in this new chapter of our story. Your presence, your contribution, and your trust have been fundamental to everything we have achieved so far, and they will be even more important in the years to come.
With gratitude,
Francesca Moncada
