MUSA OUTPUTS

At the end of the first edition of the project co-funded by Erasmus+, the materials produced are accessible free of charge and constitute a new resource for musicians, academies, universities, entrepreneurs and cultural operators and researchers.

The Handbook entitled “The Entrepreneurial String Quartet: Key Learnings from the MUSA Project” can be read as:

  • a self-learning package addressed to string quartets who desire to explore cultural entrepreneurship issues
  • a narration of a methodological and operational framework, that can be applied to similar vocational training programs
  • a tool for disseminating the results obtained through the MUSA program held between October 2020 and 2022.

The Lecture Notes sum up the main objectives, contents and key take-aways from the MUSA workshops about:

  • The String Quartet Image Strategy
  • Cross-fertilisation among the Arts
  • Recording and Market distribution; Physical and Mental Preparation

These Guidelines for Innovative Higher Training Pathways in the music sector would like to be a starting point and a useful tool for other organizations implementing similar vocational training projects at European level, in the music sector and beyond. The structure and contents of this document were defined over the first months of the MUSA activities, in order to set a common methodological and operational framework for the program’s implementation in Italy, Portugal, and France.

The Case Study entitled “Not That Same Old Song: Cultural Entrepreneurship at Le Dimore del Quartetto” tells the story and experience of the innovative cultural enterprise Le Dimore del Quartetto, highlighting the educational and social values of European cultural heritage as economic and employment driver. The Case Study was curated by ASK – Università Bocconi and it is addressed to arts management students, cultural entrepreneurs and researchers.
