Conversation-concert with first class students as part of the ABITO project

Jingzhi Zhang, violin
Giacomo Lucato, violin
Matilde Simionato, viola
Martino Simionato, cello

The meeting includes an introduction to the formation and repertoire of the string quartet, with a focus on the values that guide the work of a quartet: collaboration, listening, respect, and a culture of dialogue. The metaphor of the string quartet as an ideal group of equal and inclusive work, aims to raise students’ awareness of the value of the individual, understood both as an individual and as a person part of a group, of a society. The musical programme includes pieces from the chamber music repertoire and will be alternated with moments of conversation and educational workshops designed for the occasion for students.

THE PROJECT "ABITO"

ABITO is a civic education course that accompanies secondary school students on the path to conscious citizenship through the languages of art and culture. ABITO is conceived and promoted by a group of cultural institutions governed by women who care about the development of a society of equals: Le Dimore del Quartetto, Fondazione Arnoldo e Alberto Mondadori, Triennale Milano Teatro, Museo Teatrale alla Scala, Equaly and Italia Music Lab.

In this context, Le Dimore del Quartetto proposes the MetaFour project, a journey of words and music based on a direct dialogue with the musicians of a string quartet, which raises awareness of the importance of collaboration, listening and the fundamental values that guide a civilised society.

The pilot edition of ABITO is promoted with the support of Fondazione EOS – Edison Orizzonte Sociale.
