Desguin Kwartet is an ambitious young Belgian quartet known for its versatility and often interdisciplinary approach. Born at the Royal Conservatory of Antwerp, where the members of the quartet met and graduated with distinction, the quartet was shortly afterwards selected for the Orpheus Institute for chamber music in Ghent and is currently a member of the prestigious Pro Quartet Academy in Paris. Their quartet playing is strongly influenced by their teachers from Alban Berg, Danel and the Zemlinsky Quartet.

In 2019 they became ‘Artist in Residence’ of the SWUK Foundation in Belgium and in 2020 they won the SUPERNOVA Classics Competition, along with the audience award.

BRERA MUSICA | THE PROJECT

Brera/Musica is the project of the Pinacoteca di Brera in Milan that explores and deepens the relationships between visual art and music, an integral part of the development of the academic, intellectual and artistic dimension of the Pinacoteca’s works.

From 16 March to 21 December, the musicians of Le Dimore del Quartetto, in dialogue with curator and art historian Alessandra Montalbetti, introduce the public to the atmospheres of the pictorial and musical landscapes that are the protagonists of this edition.

Concerts are online on the third Thursday of each month, starting at 6 p.m., on the website of the Pinacoteca di Brera and Le Dimore del Quartetto.
