A quality circuit for the new generation of Italian talent
Il Comitato AMUR, the network of historic Italian chamber music institutions, announces the second edition of the AMUR Per i Nuovi Talenti. This biennial initiative aims to highlight the new wave of creativity in chamber music, cultivating collaborations and synergies between the leading concert organisations in Italy.
The call for applications “AMUR PER I NUOVI TALENTI 2024″ is open to all kinds of instrumental ensembles, from two to six performers, composed of Italian or foreign musicians living in Italy, with an average age of no more than 30 years. The selection officially opens on 15 November 2023 with applications closing no later than 31 December 2023.
The first edition saw over 70 participating groups, with the final held in Perugia thanks to the Fondazione Perugia Musica Classica with the jury of the AMUR Committee’s Artistic Directors presided over by Maestro Enrico Bronzi present, saw the Trio Chagall, the Trio Eidos and the Faccini Piano Duo as winners.
In the full spirit of collaboration and alternation, Umbria passes the baton to Lombardy for the final of the competition that will be held in Milan in 2024 thanks to the collaboration of the Founding Members of the AMUR Committee, the Fondazione La Società dei Concerti di Milano and the Società del Quartetto di Milano with the jury chaired by their respective Artistic Directors, Maestro Enrica Ciccarelli together with Maestro Paolo Arcà.
The final, scheduled for Saturday 16 March 2024, will be held at the ‘Giuseppe Verdi’ rest home in Milan, where the best 8 selected ensembles will perform live in front of the authoritative jury of the Amur Committee, which will award the main prizes. A jury made up of the guest artists of the rest home will award one group of their choice with a scholarship.
The groups selected for the final stage in Milan will be hosted free of charge in the Lombardy residences that are part of the Le Dimore del Quartetto network, partners in the initiative.
The young artists selected will have the opportunity to perform in front of the artistic directors of the most authoritative concert organisations in the country. For the three most promising ensembles, a tour of at least five concerts scattered throughout Italy, from Trieste to Palermo, a debut for a successful national and international career, is planned.
