"MERITA": A EUROPEAN DREAM
|
|
|
The new European Project MERITA – where chamber Music, cultural hERItage and TAlent meet has won the European call Creative Europe – European Platforms 2021 and has obtained a co-financing from the European Union, amounting to €2.100.000 - of which 70 percent will be allocated to the circuiting of the projects carried out by 38 european young string quartets, which will be selected in the upcoming months.

The project starts in September 2022 and it involves 17 partners from 12 European countries, coordinated by Le Dimore del Quartetto as the leading organization, in an innovative program of sustainable support for young European string quartets and cultural heritage.

MUSA'S FINAL EVENT
|
|
On October 12th we will be in Bruxelles for the final event of MUSA - European Young Musicians Soft Skills Alliance.
|
|
The day will be dedicated to the presentation of the projects, results and outputs, and to a round table about the topics "Chamber music | From education to market" and "Cross-fertilisation among chamber music and other artistic fields".
|
At the end of the event, it will be possible to download for free the MUSA's Handbook on MUSA website. The Handbook will be a useful tool for young quartets and trios, teachers, and academies, to know more about the string quartet image strategy, the potential of connecting chamber music and other artistic disciplines (in particular, arts, architecture and design), the recording process and market distribution, and the physical and mental preparation for musicians.

Promoted by the Association IN MUSICA VERITAS, in collaboration with Corso Marco Allegri, this International Scholarship for chamber music ensembles is established as an homage to a special man. As the Consul General of Italy in Chongqing and as a cultured man who loved music, Filippo Nicosia always supported and promoted musical talent with great enthusiasm. Thanks to this scholarship, Filippo can continue adding his precious contribution to the world of Music and to the lives of many young performers.

The Filippo Nicosia Award will be assigned to the best participant ensemble in the masterclass of M° Simone Gramaglia, violist of Quartetto di Cremona, that will be held on August 26th, 27th and 28th, 2022.
|
Open to string quartets, string trios, piano trios and piano quartets, the award consists of:

• two concerts offered by Gioventù Musicale d’Italia in 2023

• a Musical Portrait offered by Archi Magazine

WIN A RECORDING WITH
DA VINCI PUBLISHING | DV YOUNG SOUNDS

DV YOUNG SOUNDS, a project by Da Vinci Publishing®, Osaka in collaboration with EGEA Music, and for the first time with the Armonie della Sera International Music Festival, is aimed at the development of musical activity among the new generations, providing financial coverage and support to young musicians who decide to enter the complex world of music recording.
|
|
|
|
|
Da Vinci allocates for this project the funds for the realization of a maximum of 8 productions to be recorded in the course of 2022-2023 at the indicated locations and with designated technicians. The discographic product thus created will be published by the Da Vinci Classics label, and will benefit from a wide promotion and press release.

WORKSHOP AT LA FERME DE VILLEFAVARD
|
October 10th - 16th, 2022 — Villefavard en Limousin, France

|
A unique occasion of residency that combines the presence of researchers in acoustics, violin makers and musicians.
|
|
Organized in France, at the Ferme de Villefavard, the one-week residency will allow to study the acoustic of the instruments of the quartet.
|
|
|
|
It is a unique meeting that will bring together specialists and experts from all over Europe: violin makers will be accompanied by the best scientists (acousticians, physicists...) who work on the acoustics of the violin to supervise the experiments.
|
One string quartet will be selected for the residency. One member of the quartet will be available each day for 1.5 hours to carry out tests with violin makers and scientists, where they will be asked to rehearse short musical excerpts, while the rest of the day will be completely free (for quartet rehersals, individual work...).
|
|
The quartet's stay - lodging and meals at la Ferme de Villefavard - will be covered by the luthiers' group.

The high specialization course – Stauffer Artist Diploma is an annual program for gifted and talented young musicians.
|

Course is held by the members of the Quartetto di Cremona.
|
Special sessions will be scheduled with guest Professors such as Michele Campanella (piano), Alexander Pavlovsky (violin, Jerusalem Quartet), Miguel da Silva (viola, Ysaÿe Quartet), Eckart Runge (cello, Artemis Quartet).
|

The course is open to formed string quartets, piano trios, string trios or other chamber music groups.

ACADEMIC COURSE IN CHAMBER MUSIC
WITH TRIO DEBUSSY

The course of chamber music provides the ensembles with advanced training in chamber music, through which they will acquire a thorough knowledge of repertoire and thus establish a solid base on which to build their careers as concert performers.
|
|
The course consists of eight lessons, divided into four teaching sessions organised during the academic year, from October to May. The lessons will be taught by single members of the Trio Debussy or by the whole trio, as required.

The 1st International String Quartet Competition Bad Tölz, addressed to young first-class ensembles from all over Europe and beyond, aims to promote young highly talented and aspiring string quartets and to support the start of their further careers as top European quartets.
|
|
|
|
|
Günter Pichler will be the chairman for the jury, also composed by Gustav Frielinghaus, Andrea Hampl, Volker Jacobsen, Helena Poggio, František Souček and Antti Tikkanen.
|
The prizes amount to €27.000 in total plus European concert tour and concert proposals.
|
|
|
|
