MERITA | SELECTION OF QUARTETS

The European project MERITA, winner of the call Creative Europe - European Platforms 2021 and co-funded by the European Union, gathered more than 60 applications from musicians from 27 different countries.

The selection of 38 string quartets that will take part in MERITA's activities will be communicated in February 2023.

Each month, a masterpiece kept at Pinacoteca di Brera, one of the most important art institutions in Milan and in Italy, will be paired with a music video performed by the ensembles in Le Dimore del Quartetto network, and shared on ours and Pinacoteca di Brera's websites and social media.

DELAWARE'S GRADUATE STRING QUARTET FELLOWSHIP

The University of Delaware School of Music and Calidore String Quartet are now accepting applications for the Graduate String Quartet Fellowship, beginning in Fall 2023. This fully funded opportunity is for pre-formed string quartets whose members do not already hold a Master of Music in Performance. ​
The Graduate String Quartet will work closely with Calidore Quartet during their two-year program. The Fellowship award includes full tuition remission and a generous stipend renewable for two years.

FONDAZIONE I TEATRI | LA CASA DEL QUARTETTO

With the aim of offering opportunities for professional growth, further training, knowledge, Fondazione I Teatri issues a call for the 4th Edition of the project Casa del Quartetto. Artistic Residency Program for young string quartets.
The project envisages a residency in Reggio Emilia from June 5th to June 17th, 2023, the programme of which consists of study activities with the tutor and music director Maestro Francesco Filidei, with the members of the Quatuor Danel and the Bennewitz Quartet, with the composers Kostas Zisimopoulos and Maria Vincenza Cabizza, independent study activities and public concerts.

The recipients of the residency are string quartets of all nationalities, with priority given to ensembles whose individual age does not exceed 34 years.

The residency of Vibre! 2023 Bordeaux String Quartet Festival includes masterclasses with the Modigliani and Jerusalem quartets, professional recordings, workshops and concerts.

The residency is open to string quartets of all nationalities, whose members are under 35 years of age as of May 27th, 2023.

The Academy searches the world for the most promising pianists, violinists, violists, cellists and chamber music ensembles to become students of its Soloists & Ensembles Programme.
Eight from each solo discipline and two ensembles are selected for three weeks of mentorship and coaching by a faculty that is second to none.

Musicians of all nationalities may apply. Ensembles must be aged 22 to 30 as of 1 July 2023.

Michael Barenboim’s masterclass will give his students the opportunity to discover the importance of chamber music in the solo repertoire.

An innovative program that combines body, mind, breath and music through yoga and meditation. The purpose of this masterclass is the exploration of “mindful movement,” alignment, working on one’s breath and self-awareness.

PROQUARTET PROFESSIONAL TRAINING

The 2022-2023 American Virtuoso International Music Competition (AVIMC) Winter Edition: Through the Eras is open to musicians of any nationality.
AVIMC offers Winners Recital in Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall, and all contestants will receive complimentary masterclass opportunities with adjudicators in different categories.

INTERNATIONAL MUSIC COMPETITION

Szymanowski Competition returns for the second edition with a prize pool of €300.000, a star-studded jury, and an inspiring repertoire this can be a turning point in the careers of its winners.
The performing competition will take place in September 2023 in the inspiring surroundings of the Karol Szymanowski Academy of Music and the Polish National Radio Symphony Orchestra in Katowice.

INTERNATIONAL COMPETITION OF POLISH MUSIC

The International Competition of Polish Music promotes the vast legacy of the nineteenth and twentieth century Polish music. The Competition is divided into two distinct categories: one intended for pianists and one for chamber music ensembles.
There are no age or citizenship restrictions.
The qualified participants will have provided accommodation and meals during the competition. The cost of travel to and back from Rzeszów, Poland will be reimbursed.

Trondheim International Chamber Music Competition & Academy focus especially on advanced student ensembles and young professional ensembles, and is open for chamber ensembles from all over the world.
All rounds of the competition will be in the Free Mason Hall: a beautiful hall with perfectly suited acoustics for chamber music.

Applications will be accepted from musicians of all nationalities with combined maximum age of the trio members as of 26th of September 2023 not exceeding 90 years. Lodging and meals will be provided for the selected piano trios.

GENEVA INTERNATIONAL MUSIC COMPETITION
