November 8th 2016 - November 8th 2021
This month we blow out 5 candls on our birthday cake: five years have passed since our organization was born. In these years we have had an exponential growth and we transformed into a creative cultural enterprise. We never stop and we never get discouraged, we faced the absence of residences and concerts filling it with new perspectives, and now that the cultural field is finally approaching a new phase of recovery, we are working with renewed enthusiasm to make them happen.
We thank our, increasingly numerous, partners and supporters who are always at our side.

COSIMO CAROVANI: INTORNO ALLA MUSICA
In discussions around music, there is always someone skeptical who says «writing about music is like dancing about architecture» (a quote attributed, erroneously, to Frank Zappa): a little, after all, we all see it this way, but from the ancient times until today we never stopped talking about music. It is not about questioning the ineffability of the sounds’ art; but, on the contrary, to take notice that a constellation of thoughts and words can spring from that intangible power. Rameau, Schumann, Berlioz or Wagner are just a few of the many musicians who have dedicated pages and pages – theoretical, critical or philosophical – to their art, as in a continuous maieutic work on themselves and on their music. To talk about music is important – it is indeed! Cosimo Carovani talks in these pages of a power to operate inner transformations: why should we self-censure and avoid giving verbal expression to something that, although apparently inexpressible, is able to change our life?

Cosimo Carovani studied in Italy at the prestigious Music School of Fiesole, at the Accademia Incontri con Maestro in Imola and in Germany at the Hochschule für Musik, Theater und Media in Hannover. Chamber musician by vocation, he is the cellist of Quartetto Indaco, ensemble that joined Le Dimore del Quartetto's network in 2017.
After the publication of the of the collection of stories Lettere Sommerse, Intorno alla Musica is his first book of musical reflections.
