APRIL 1-3 | NEXTGEN CONFERENCE 2022

nextgen 2022 dimore quartetto
Le Dimore del Quartetto was invited to present its activity on Saturday, April 2nd 2022 at the Next Generation general assembly, within the panel “Diversification: innovative uses for historic property that do not conflict with use as a private home; relevant business opportunities”.

The assembly, which this year took place from Friday, April 1st to Sunday, April 3rd at Killruddery House in Bray (Dublin), brings together young owners of historic houses from all over Europe. It is a unique place to meet with dynamic entrepreneurs and share experiences on specific topics related to the management of family-owned houses and their parks and gardens.

The NextGen framework was developed in 2014 by European Historic Houses, with a view to supporting National Associations more actively in widening the participation by young and future members. Young owners are indeed the future of historic heritage as tomorrow they will be their custodians. Yet to keep this heritage alive and ensure transmission, young generations must face challenges and find solutions to manage their historic buildings.

FOURFUN | THE QUARTET IN THE SCHOOLS

MUSIC IS ENERGY
A tribute to Ludwig van Beethoven and Alessandro Volta

QUARTETTO INDACO | Tuesday, April 12th 2022, Parini Middle School (CO)
Fourfun, the string quartet as an ideal metaphor for teamwork: a working group to take some inspiration from.

Fourfun is a musical path, based on a direct dialogue between musicians and school students, without the barriers that often arise in a concert hall. This allows young participants to get involved and work in a team as in a string quartet. A Fourfun session includes narrations about the history and peculiarities of the string quartet, music performances, team games and thematic workshops.
The programme of the meeting at Parini Middle School aims to build a bridge between Ludwig van Beethoven and Alessandro Volta, the 195th anniversary of whose death was celebrated in March.

PLAYLIST OF THE MONTH

dimore quartetto_Werther

QUARTETTO WERTHER

Gabriel Fauré's piano quartets are authentic gems that one would be happy to hear more often in concert.
We present them here in the beautiful performance of the Quartetto Werther, undoubtedly one of the best young promises of Italian chamber music.

Phrasing, technical solidity, formal clarity and beautiful sound distinguish and characterise the four performers. A playlist to listen to carefully and an ensemble to follow and listen live.

Enjoy,
Simone Gramaglia

NEWS

A NEW EUROPEAN CULTURAL NETWORK

cem_logo_cmjn_couleur_gd
On Sunday, April 3rd 2022 the city of Bougival became the pan-European capital of music. Indeed, the town where Pauline and Louis Viardot, Georges Bizet and Ivan Tourgueniev lived, is the location choosen for the signing of the Agreement of the Houses and Museums of European Musicians. Around forty houses, museums and partner institutions, among which Le Dimore del Quartetto, officially joined the Network of the Houses and Museums of European Musicians (HMMM).

"The Europe of Musicians exists because music has shaped Europe! It is a question of highlighting a feeling of belonging to the European soil, a feeling that has been carried by great musicians for centuries. With this network, we want to broaden European and extra-European connections. Music must play this role as a connector, but also a diplomatic role, as a bridge between cultures and a dialogue between disciplines", states Jorge Chaminé, president and founder of the Centre Européen de Musique.

LITERATURE, MUSIC, POETRY

Exchanges and Correspondence between the Nineteenth and Twentieth Centuries

dimore quartetto cremona
Filippo Annunziata, a dear friend and advisor of Le Dimore del Quartetto, contributed to the realisation of the book Literature, Music and Poetry: a collection of twelve studies that reflect on significant exchanges of roles between lovers of literature, music and poetry, engaged in practising them with different intensity and expertise, but with identical enthusiasm, and open up unexpected perspectives. Poets and men of letters came face to face with music, developing poetic ideas, deriving modes and structures from it, fertile suggestions active above all in verses. And musicians engage with literary skill and taste in the most varied forms of verbal text.

WHAT THEY SAY ABOUT US

"Le Dimore del Quartetto demonstrates that experiences of the highest quality can be offered with simplicity, humility, a sincere spirit of sharing and in an atmosphere of authentic inclusiveness. The smiles of all the people in the team and the sincere thanks of those who support you are concrete proof of an excellent way of acting and doing social enterprise."
Lucia Spini
March 3rd 2022, about the Award Concert 2020/2021

"Because when the musicians play they physically become music, almost in ecstasy, it was fascinating. I saw theatre, contemporary dance, and all this within a quartet: fantastic!"

Christopher Veggetti Kanku
March 3rd 2022, about the Award Concert 2020/2021

"Le Dimore del Quartetto has always had an important role in our ensemble’s path, in terms of support, opportunities and network making. As an endorsed group, we had the chance to perform for the most prestigious Festivals in Italy, to find places where to stay and study during our masterclass and to receive the advice from great musicians and international teachers. We totally share Le Dimore del Quartetto’s values and we feel fortunate to be part of a network that allows us to meet and compare ourselves with amazing ensemble coming from all over the world. Also, we really appreciate that Le Dimore del Quartetto takes care not only of our musical path, but focuses on the whole musical career, conceived in a wider managerial perspective."

March 7th 2022

"Having taken part in MUSA #1 in Portugal (and having been selected for the upcoming workshop in France as well) we can confirm that this project is of immense value for the professional and artistic development of young string quartets. We have already profited from our participation in many ways: Not only did we learn from acclaimed experts from several interesting fields, we also got to meet and exchange with young quartets from around Europe, fostering a spirit of cooperation and mutual growth."

March 16th 2022, about MUSA – European young MUsicians soft Skills Alliance

"I’ve immediately joined the beautiful initiative The String Circle which involves us together with Le Dimore del Quartetto and the young and promising musicians of their network. I think that the very word "circle" makes it clear the importance of this circularity of luthier’s knowledge, which meets, through our instruments, the talented young instrumentalists of the quartets and their attentive and passionate audiences. A unique and exclusive way for new relationships and acquaintances in the name of music, violin making and art.”
