THE PROJECT
Cristina Trivulzio di Belgiojoso, a personality with a thousand faces – of this heroine of the Italian Risorgimento On the occasion of the 150° anniversary of her death, Fondazione Brivio Sforza, in collaboration with Le Dimore del Quartetto, promotes the installation of the First Statue in Milan dedicated to a Woman, Cristina Trivulzio di Belgiojoso. A four-landmarks itinerary from June to September 2021 goes through four emblematic places of Cristina Trivulzio’s life, revealing her wide-ranging personality, with the aim of shining a spotlight on her extraordinary life and work and to suggest a starting point for a broader collective recognition of women’s action in history and in the contemporary time. Each event opens with a conversation curated by Paola Dubini (Bocconi University) who, taking her cue from Cristina Trivulzio’s life and writings, discusses today’s challenges with four oustanding women, our “contemporary Cristinas”. This is followed by an open-air string quartet concert, with music from the 19th century combined with original and unpublished works by young contemporary composers.

Archipelago is a concerts series that in each concert sees the participation of a string quartet and a soloist, selected among the most talented young musicians of the international classical music landscape. They perform together for the first time on the stage of Auditorium “Lo Squero” on Isola di San Giorgio Maggiore in Venice, after a short period of residence and study under the supervision of M° Giancarlo di Vacri. The poetic view on the Venetian lagoon is an inspiration for the artists and for the audience who experiences the pleasure to live the extraordinary result of the artistic entente developed during those days.
|
Archipelago offers musicians new encounters opportunities and the possibility to experiment original repertoires of ensemble music, that bring together soloists and quartets.

QUARTETTO INDACO
|
|
The playlist we are proposing for this monthly newsletter features Quartetto Indaco, definitely one of the best Italian ensembles on the international scene, a group able to thrill and delight through intense, deep, transparent, intelligent and visionary interpretations. In this playlist, Quartetto Indaco presents pieces taken from three albums: Northern Lights, Albini and Dante 21 - the latter, a tribute to the great Maestro. A journey full of delicate, passionate and introspective beauty that affects the listener from the very first track. Many composers are included, from Grieg and Rachmaninov to some of the most important Italian names on the contemporary scene such as Sollima, Bietti, Anzovino, Portera and, of course, Albini. An immersive listening experience which, thanks to the skill of Indaco's musicians, allows us the pleasure of forgetting the passing of time in order to hang on to music for a while.

"Promoted by the Musical Association IN MUSICA VERITAS, this International Scholarship for young string quartets and chamber ensembles is established as an homage to a special man, whom I was fortunate enough to know. As the Consul General of Italy in Chongqing and simply as a cultured man who loved music, Filippo was always able to recognize true musical talent, supporting and promoting it with great enthusiasm. His entire life stands as a testimony of the fact that one can pursue great things and reach prestigious heights, without losing one’s humanity. May he serve as an inspiration for all young people dedicated to the study of Chamber Music: an example of the values of diligence, tenacity, strength of character, intelligence and sensitivity that are crucial for building a successful career. Thanks to this scholarship, Filippo can continue adding his precious contribution to the world of Music and to the lives of many young performers."

"To those who this summer will opt for proximity tourism, we would like to suggest the beautiful initiative of which we are media partner: Musica con Vista 2021. The chamber music festival organized by Comitato AMUR with Le Dimore del Quartetto and Associazione Dimore Storiche Italiane, involves 18 concert societies for 37 open-air concerts, from June to September, in gardens, cloisters and courtyards of historic houses and other ancient buildings. These events are an encouragement to discover the surrounding territory. A pleasant way to support local activities and especially the artists who return to perform after a long time."

“Music represents the synthesis of such values and it is one of the ultimate expressions of beauty, most of all when it is widely enjoyed in extraordinary places."

"To give a stage to young talented musicians and high quality entertainment to tourists that are on the hunt for beauty."
