NEWSLETTER FOR QUARTETS AND TRIOS
Despite the challenges we all have faced in 2020, in only 6 months we have involved 18 ensembles in 27 paid concerts, generating 49,000 euro of revenues for 69 musicians. 3 ensembles have been offered a scholarship for participating in our Espresso Masterclass held by internationally renowned Maestros in the marvelous Villa Valvitiano in Perugia. Despite the restrictions, we have organized 163 days of residency in 5 countries (in complete safety) for our musicians, responding to 34 requests of hospitality.
We have contributed to the realization of recording projects and of a series of concert lectures with students in Italian and Qatari schools. We have given life to a new project, MUMU - consisting in the organization of intimate concerts in museums - and outdoor national festivals including around 20 Italian concert societies. We have ideated and started with the implementation of our first European project, MUSA. In December 2020, we have inaugurated our “Playlist of the Month” section in our monthly newsletter addressed to over 4000 international subscribers (PS if you have recordings on Spotify, share them with us. Our artistic director Simone Gramaglia will select them for our monthly newsletter!).
In 2020, 8 international ensembles have joined our network and other 9 ensembles have joined us in these first months of 2021. Our network of musicians now counts 78 chamber music groups based in 17 countries. In addition, we now collaborate with 25 Italian concert societies, 3 European academies, 2 European Biennales of String Quartet, 2 masterclasses, 1 competition, 4 instrument collectors and many more cultural organizations.
We are now working on numerous projects that will hopefully start in June 2021, and some other future international activities that will for sure involve many of you (we can’t wait!). As you all know, we are strongly committed to the support of your career and, at the same time, we are project developers: whenever you wish to implement any idea or organize any project together, do not hesitate to contact us and we will be happy to put our knowledge, skills and network at your disposal!

Teacher: Simone Gramaglia While the sanitary emergency makes it impossible for all of us to travel to Cremona, the Academy has developed a unique Online Program. In partnership with our wonderful Italian colleagues and friends, we have incorporated many components of the traditional Cremona program into this year’s program. With the goal of preserving as much of the authentic “Cremonese” experience as possible, many exciting events were added. The program will encompass private lessons, masterclasses, small ensemble and chamber music classes, interactive workshops, panel discussions, virtual tours, student recitals and Distinguished Faculty Concert Series. The 10th Cremona Competition for Strings and Piano will take place in a live recorded format. Preserving the spirit of the Academy, we invite all participants to join us in special live-streaming tours of the world-famous Cremona Museo del Violino, Consorzio Liutai “Antonio Stradivari”, and into the workshops of the famous luthiers of Cremona – providing a unique experience to observe, ask questions, and learn secrets of the art of instrument making and repair.
