THE HISTORIC BORDEAUX BLEND OF CASTELLO DI RONCADE
|

At the beginning of the 1900s, Baron Tito Ciani Bassetti chose Roncade Castle as the place that would host his family and his dream: a wine activity in an ancient land dedicated to viticulture since Roman and Serenissima times. One hundred and ten hectares of vineyards, with a terroir characterized by a microclimate with low rainfall and by a layer of "caranto" a few centimeters deep.

Villa Giustinian is the prince of the wines produced by the Castello di Roncade, as well as one of the first Bordeaux in Italy, born by the will of Baron Giovanni Ciani Bassetti. Then produced as a classic Bordeaux cut, obtained from Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Malbec; today, after careful selections and under the guidance of the oenologist Umberto Trombelli, Malbec has been replaced with Carmenere and a small percentage of Raboso. Aged for 12-14 months in small oak and Slavonian oak barrels of small capacity and in bottle for 12 months. Very elegant wine, over time it matures enhancing its spicy and elegant notes.

THE "CARE PACKAGE" OF VILLA DI GEGGIANO
|
|
|
The agricultural production of Villa di Geggiano focuses on the bottling of high quality wine in very limited quantities.
|
The entire production is certified organic and is composed of Chianti Classico wine made exclusively from Sangiovese grapes and an IGT made from Sangiovese, Syrah and Ciliegiolo grapes. The terroir of Geggiano confers great power and complexity to the wine that is made with traditional and non-invasive winemaking processes. Aging is in French oak barrels and lasts for a minimum of 24 months. It's interesting to note that the wine produced by the family at the Villa was one of the first Chianti ever exported to London under a brand that still exists. In fact, transport documents for barrels marked by Niccoló Bandinelli da Geggiano in London were found as early as 1725.

THE "ORTI DI VILLA VALMY"
|
|
|
|
|
The ancient Villa Valmy, in Borgo Panigale, on the outskirts of Bologna, is a place full of history: owned by the Benelli family since 1887, General François-Christophe Kellermann - Valmy's hero, also sung by Giosuè Carducci in one of his New Rhymes - was hosted right here in 1796, during the Napoleon campaign in Italy.

The "Orti di Villa Valmy" product line includes Apple and Pear Juice and Pulp, and a delicious Compote. The natural fruit juice and compote, with no added sugar, are obtained from "zero kilometer" fruit, harvested in the Due Giardini farm, in the land surrounding Villa Valmy, in Borgo Panigale-Bologna, part of the Magnolia company, like Palazzo Boncompagni.
